Hamburger, done right.

Red meat, an open flame with a fresh bun; a very simple meal, but my god can it be screwed up. Thankfully I currently live in Toronto and grew up in Windsor. Toronto has some of the best burger joints you can hope for, from Apache on Dundas west where you can get it done your way with the works, Johny's on Victoria Park where you only make the mistake of ordering green stuff on your burger once, to what had to be one of the best burger dining experiences of my life. 244 Adelaide in down town Toronto. Its no secrete my partner in crime is a bit of a picky eater, while I was very pleased with my basic burger and friends that came with mayo, ketchup and mustard all made scratch from the kitchen, she was a bit put off by the spice on her veggie thing. Have no fear though the waiter saved the day, damn I completely forget to ask his name, he came over and said "There is something wrong, how can I fix it". He then talked to her about what she did not like with her meal, took it away and he brought a more simple burger to replace the earth friendly thing, she enjoyed this new burger immensely. A pretty simple thing yes, but seeing a waiter care enough to come over and "fix" the meal you are not enjoying speaks volumes for how they care for their customers. I have been to some wonderful restaurants from Herbs on Yonge to even more posh places, very few have offered this level of service and customer caring.

Now with that the hurray for good service having been said I must mention the best damn burger I have ever had. Ladies and Gentlemen if your going to Casino Windsor or the International Freedom Festival you must stop by Bubbies on University in downtown Windsor. Bubbies is home to the best damn home fries, amazing garlicly good sauce, and by far the best burgers I have ever had. If you can not find one that peaks your interest you have not turned the menu page yet. There is nothing like a Bubbies burger, if you live in Windsor and are making the trip to Toronto soon please let me know its been two years since my last fix.
